Overview

The Department of Dermatology of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1976, which is one of the earliest established TCM dermatology departments in the province. In 1996, the Department of Dermatology was selected as the key specialty of the " five one " science and education project in Guangdong Province.In 1998, the Department of Dermatology became the key specialty of traditional Chinese medicine dermatology in Guangdong Province. In 2001, dermatology was selected as the first batch of key discipline construction units of dermatology of traditional Chinese medicine by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which marked that the academic status and discipline construction of dermatology had entered the forefront of the country.In 2011, it entered the first batch of national ( former Ministry of Health ) clinical key specialties, and obtained two nationally led key research diseases of atopic dermatitis and tinea pedis, which further established the academic status of our department in the national dermatology of traditional Chinese medicine. Atopic dermatitis and allergic skin diseases, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, dermatophytosis, hair, venereal diseases, bullous and autoimmune skin diseases, acne and debilitating skin diseases, skin surgery and skin tumors, traditional Chinese medicine cosmetology and other 10 specialist clinics were opened. There are more than 30 kinds of special preparations such as traditional Chinese medicine ointment, Dan, pill, powder, tincture and lotion, and more than 10 kinds of special therapies such as skin scratch therapy and root cutting therapy. The main direction of academic development is autoimmune and immune-related skin diseases ( systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriasis ), allergic skin diseases ( atopic dermatitis ), infectious skin diseases ( dermatomycosis, venereal diseases ), and skin adnexal diseases ( acne, alopecia ). The subject has achieved remarkable scientific research results and strong clinical transformation ability. In the past five years, 79 projects have been presided over, including 17 national projects and 14 provincial and ministerial projects, with a total funding of 53.356 million yuan. In the past five years, 213 papers have been published, including 67 SCI papers and 23 monographs, including 3 textbooks. Five disease diagnosis and treatment standards were formulated, three clinical pathways were formulated, 16 invention patents and software copyrights were obtained, and one international PCT patent was applied for. The Dermatology Department of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine is one of the most influential dermatology clinics in China.It is now the chairman of the Dermatology Committee of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Associations, the vice chairman of the Chinese Medicine Association, the chairman of the Immunology Branch of the Chinese Medicine Association, the chairman of the Dermatology Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the director of the Dermatology and Venereology Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. The specialty is the National Regional TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Center ( South China · Dermatology ) and the Guangdong Provincial Clinical Medical Research Center ( TCM Dermatology ).
